McKenzie Champion grew up in a small town in South Dakota. When she was in high school she worked for a bakery and fell in love with working in the kitchen. This inspired her to go to culinary school. McKenzie graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Minnesota, with a degree is Pâtisserie and Baking. McKenzie then moved to Vail, Colorado, where she met and worked with Chef Cristian. Next, she moved to Tennessee where she gained experience working in a café and bake shop as well as a wholesale bakery.
